Kind of a tourist trap. Food was okay but wayyyy overpriced! The bar has one of the best views in town though--definitely a place to grab a drink!!

Pleasantly surprised! Great view, fun atmosphere, and delicious meal. Our table sampled a variety of dishes and all were very flavorful and cooked perfectly...which is a must for seafood. Will definitely return.

Seems like they are trying to hard with the menu. It's a whole of stuff with either to I much or too little. It was ok for the price. Avoid front windows at sundown, it's hot and blinding. Staff is a little on the slow side. Tried it but won't go back.

The food was subpar and overpriced. The view was spectacular though so this place gets 3 stars. The crab cakes were nothing spectacular. The salmon was undercooked. The crab dip was bland and the lava cake was the small and reminded us nothing of the ova cakes at other restaurants. we really wanted to like this restaurant but the cooking staff needs a wake up call if they are going to charge those prices.

Great view, food not so much. $8.95 for a kids meal that consisted of one chicken skewer and a twice baked potato that was too dry to eat. Flatbread tasted like our of a box. The setting is nice, but you can do much better in Charleston

Great service and view food was excellent, I would definitely come back. Not sure why the average score is so low.

Stopped here while passing through and well worth it! The food is excellent! Their staff is friendly and courteous. There isn't a bad table in the house. I recommend the Spinach and Artichoke dip!

This place is all atmosphere and view. Both of which are awesome. The food was definitely good, but don't expect to show up and have your socks knocked off and your hair blown back by the eggs Benedict. Our server was very nice. It took almost 45 minutes for our food to come out (brunch food) and the place was almost empty, but they were very apologetic. No worries though, we had the view to enjoy while we waited. There are many places in Charleston I wouldn't waste my time visiting. This is NOT one of them. All in all, I think this place will keep getting better and better. I'll definitely be going back.

Eric, the Sunday afternoon (Oct 12) bartender, was awesome! He was fun, had great recommendations, and provided excellent service! Great view as well!

Brand new restaurant right on Charleston Harbor with absolutely beautiful views of the USS Yorktown, Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina and Downtown Charleston...the left side of the restaurant closest to the marina gift shop has garage doors that open and provide a great breeze...while the right side was fully enclosed. The upstairs bar provides the best views of all. We had a table of 6 and were hosted by a nice but quirky waiter. I ordered the roasted scallops over a bed of risotto...it was absolutely delicious. At $27 dollars for the entree...pretty expensive though. The rest of the group liked their meal and experience and I am sure we will all be back in the future.

Last night we had reservations for 6:30 but arrived early. It was not a problem and we were seated promptly in the screened in area with an incredible view of Patriots Point with Charleston across the harbor. Jacob our waiter was charming, knowledgeable about the menu and very efficient. He anticipated our every need without interruption. The entrees we ordered were excellent. Our table ordered Grouper, a Salmon and a Lobster dish all were wonderful. A request for a change of sides was not a problem, nor was the request for separate checks. For dessert the 4 of us ordered the Milky Way 5 layer cake!! Holy Cow!! We needed 6 more people to help finish it!! Incredible size and taste!! Jacob kindly offered to take our picture with this incredible dessert, because no one will believe the size!! After dinner we went up to the bridge deck to watch the sun set. Just beautiful. We all felt like we had been on a mini vacation!! I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant and can not wait to return!!

We live next door and were hoping to like this restaurant. After three trys, we still can't! The first time was opening night, so we made allowance for that. The next time was a few months later. Same deal. Tried again this summer (2014). Ditto! Service has been poor every time. Food has been mediocre and prices too high every time. Having seen some good reveiws lately, we will try one more time.

This place is just okay..... High prices for mediocre food. Better places for sure! Not likely to return.

Great patio bar with a view! Eric, the bartender was awesome. We had a few cocktails and the pimento cheese sliders. Such a great atmosphere! We will definitely be back.

Such a shame. The food was good - overpriced, but at least good. The problem is that the service is probably the worst we have ever experienced. The poor waitress was doing her best and working her butt off, but obviously the restaurant was not properly staffed. Poor management is a disservice not only to customers, but to wait staff and the chef. To make matters worse, we were celebrating a birthday. Definitely ruined our evening! Stay away - there are MANY other Charleston restaurants with exquisite food AND exquisite service, without exorbitant prices.

Nice place but very pricey! We boated over on a warm Saturday afternoon. We sat outside on the upper deck area and just had a beverage and the crab dip. Crab dip was small but excellent. Service was very good although it was middle of the afternoon and not crowded. Views from the open deck area were really nice and really made it worthwhile. As Shem Creek always seems to be dangerously crowded with boaters in various stages of intoxication, novice kayakers and paddleboarders, this may become the place to stop while boating.

The view is second to none. We've been here 3 times. The food is average and so is the service. A little pricey except for Sunday Brunch. They're going to need to get their service up to par to be a success long term

A very pleasant surprise on Patriots Point. We had excellent service and spot on wonderful food. All of the staff was attentive and on point. I would highly recommend and the view upstairs is spectacular. People who say this is pricey obviously have not eaten out larger cities like Atlanta and Miami. One of my new favorites in Charleston.

Tried the place using a half price voucher for $40. Started off with my server telling me he was a pickpocket for New York City. I gave him a shot at recommending the entree I had to try on my first visit and it was the Fish House Steam Pot for 27.95 (3)Steamed clams,(4) PEI mussels, (3)shrimp, (3 cubes)seasonal fish,(1) snow crab legs, chorizo, (2)potatoes and (3 slices of cob)corn in a tomato-based broth with grilled sourdough bread. NO taste not much of the shell fish and over done.....which they replace with the Pecan Crusted Grouper 24.95 (Hard outer meat that the pecan did not stick to )Pan fried grouper, (nasty with stems) braised collards, stone ground grits, and green tomato chutney So they charge us for my wife's dish Cedar Plank Salmon 23.95 Served with smashed potatoes and (uncooked dried out )grilled fresh seasonal vegetables, and finished with a Sriracha-honey glaze..the glaze was tuna was nice, I tired it. They tried to please and gave me to much time their efforts. With the request taking our names and address for something to be mailed...who knows? For the 30 mile round trip just to use the voucher before it expired was probably a bad bad sunday night for dinner out.

First, the positives: - spectacular view and one of only two restaurants that truly look out over Charleston Harbor - food was pretty good. Kids had ceasar salad and flatbread pizzas. My wife and I split the mahi. - service, once we sat down was good Now the other side: - we were told there was a 20-30 minute wait but it took an hour. And there were several empty tables held for reservations, that sat empty while we waited - no service to speak of in bar area at one of only two raised tables - hostess was friendly but obviously inexperienced. She tried and ultimately did fine, but it was a tad frustrating - pricey. Beers $6++, food, even splitting was $100+ for two adults, two kids. Bottom line: We'd go back, but probably just for the view, and maybe just at lunch.

Quick! Somebody dive in and rescue this sinking ship! Went here with friends for a fun night out; all of us locals, so we had plenty of choice and certainly know other great places to go, but we each wanted to give this a try and figured 'off season' was as good a time as any. I have read every review this establishment has received on Yelp so far; almost everybody is consistent with regard to mentioning the prices, and I concur. Waaaaay too expensive. C'mon folks, this is Charleston! We are the City of like....a million amazing food choices. We went to eat, not pay December's mortgage on the building! The food was good. Not bad, not great, but good. My friend and I shared the smoked fish dip as our starter - $9.95. This was the best part of the meal, and it's clear to us now that we should have stopped here. A fried shrimp and oyster combo with mac-n-cheese and truffled fries at $23 was a filling plate, but not any more special than if we had ordered it at any of our usual haunts on Shem Creek. Additionally, the broiled scallops over Hoppin John risotto was good, but at $28, it becomes difficult to judge the food independent of the price. Fast forward, add two drinks each and bam, $167. Yikes? Yup! With a menu re-vamp to correspond with altered pricing, this place could be a gem at the hands of the right ownership/management. It's a shame, really, because the staff were courteous and the views amazing. Lest we forget that Fish House is way out there...a destination restaurant for sure, because hey, it isn't like it's 'right around the corner!' So to whomever is at the helm of this ship, for goodness sakes, make it the destination restaurant concept you envisioned when you started, but slow your prices and entice your locals; after all, we are also your potential regulars.

The view while sitting in the dinning room is wonderful especially at sunset. The food was wonderful as well but expect to pay up when you come here. The service was good and the restaurant has a warm feel to it while still being very coastal. We were there in December and it was colder out but during the summer with the windows open or sitting out the patio would be perfect during the summer. I would recommend the coconut cream pie for sure. It was the best I've ever had!

Read the reviews was a little scared. I had a $40.00 deal with living social for dinner. But I was surprised. The view was amazing as well as the food. The steam pot had the best taste I did not want to stop eating. The service was great. Took a little long to get food, but I don't care if the food is great. We also had the crab cakes they were good too. They were mostly crab very little filler. We plan to come back for lunch.

Locals, do not go!! This is a tourist's only place!!! Terrible service and RIDICULOUSLY priced oysters!!!! Took my father and mother because the view is great. ordered 2 dozen oysters which came to $60!! $30 a dozen for local SC oysters!! Had to go to the bar to order drinks and clean our table ourselves. This is the third chance I have given this place only because the view is so good! By the way $18 burger!! I really hops this place goes under and is taken over by new management!!!

Had a party of 14 for in-laws 49 wedding anniv. Service was quick to begin with but soon became non-existent. Food was average at best. The absolute worst attempt at she crab soup ever made. Campbell's would have been better. The chef is either a Yankee or has never tasted his soup. Two people ordered it and neither ate it. Mahi was bland and grouper was bland as well. I understand automatic gratuity for large parties but 19%!!!!! We would have tipped 15% to show our displeasure but darn, waiter made $100 bucks and sucked.

The cedar plank salmon with a sriracha honey glaze was cooked perfectly, and the sweet potato fries came with a cinnamon nutmeg aioli that was awesome! The chilled crab dip with grilled pita points was an excellent appetizer!

We read a handful of negative reviews but decided to go ahead and try it ( my husband and I with my mom). We are so glad we didn't listen to reviews!! We really enjoyed the entire dinner. Food, service, and ambiance were great. We were in the screened area, with a nice breeze and view. The rooftop bar seemed cool, but we didn't check it out. We'd recommend it! Especially when the weather is nice. It's not fancy, and they don't intend for it to be. It's a resort casual, marina restaurant. (Seems as though people are expecting finer dining). Prices are comparable to anything else around, including casual seafood restaurants....certainly not outlandish (as others imply). I went back for a friend'a birthday dinner and they all really enjoyed it, as did I again!!

Our group of 8 was taken care of pretty well here. Had a great view of the sun setting over the USS Yorktown. Was looking forward to their tuna special, but they ran out just as I ordered. I'd been waiting to try shrimp and grits somewhere in Charleston, and the waiter said I wouldn't be disappointed. It was very good, and *almost* made me forget how ready I was for that tuna... Overall everyone was pleased. I probably wouldn't go back until I'd been able to try lots of other places around Charleston, but there weren't any red flags for any of us.

  • Rebekah S.

Extremely disappointing. I've given this place multiple chances and it's only gotten worse instead of better. The food has been either bad or completely bland. They need to revamp the menu with classic, Lowcountry seafood and give up on everything else. Focus solely on the seafood. The bridge bar is the only saving grace but you can't order a decent snack to go with your beverages. Or I should say - you shouldn't order a snack. The smoked fish dish was straight up inedible for our group. The view is spectacular, just a shame it's wasted on this place.

Sad that the best view in charleston doesn't come with great food. My party had three different entrees, none of which were appealing to us. If say go just for drinks, but the drinks were way over priced. Oh well, maybe the food will improve as it's a shame if it doesn't.

Had a great meal and pleasant experience. I was told there was new management which explains prior bad reviews. Our server Myriah even brought me a plate of fruit because i am Gluten free and could not enjoy the warm bread and oil they serve with the meal. Which in itself is becoming scarce at restaurants. I had the shrimp and grits. My husband had fried fish and shrimp. I will be going back soon.

I love this place because I can enjoy a delicious house salad with the Shellfish Martini appetizer which is lemon braised shrimp, mussels, clams & calamari. I request to add on top of the salad, so then you don't even need to add dressing which makes it even more healthy. I can also enjoy the ambiance, gorgeous view & friendly conversation with a very personable & attentive bartender while eating this awesome meal. I also enjoy the outside bar & music!

I have visited this restaurant twice now. First time was up on the bridge bar to watch the amazing sunset over Charleston Harbor. We even caught some dolphins playing. It was so relaxing with some good music. Bartender was friendly, food was great. wish the bar offered more food choices though. Very limited menu. Went back again and it was very cold out, so we ate in the main restaurant. Brought the kids this time, and they enjoyed the maps on the table while we waited for our food. Fried oysters were AMAZING!! Food and service has been great both times. Not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from, never experienced any of the complaints that ive read about. My family is even going back for Christmas dinner. Ok so went for Christmas dinner with my kids ( hubby had to work :( ) anyways got there about 20 mins early for my 500 reservation and was seated immediately. They got super busy but we were completely satisfied. Food came out perfect, service was good. It was amazing watching the efficiency of getting people in and out. Once a table emptied I believe the managers name was Sean the went right over and was making sure the tables were ready for the next group. Thank you for a great Christmas dinner! And I heard they serve brunch on Sundays now! Can't wait to try it!

There was a rock/shell piece on the oyster that my mother got into and could've damaged her tooth, and the manager barely acknowledged it. The food was mediocre: one dish was overcooked, one was almost cold, and the seafood wasn't fresh. Service was OK -- started out slow and water was almost empty before server refilled. Definitely not worth the price. The view would be the only thing worth going for.

Visiting from FL. Ordered fried oysters , collard greens and Mac & cheese. Oysters were good. Nothing amazing. Mac was good collards were a little off in flavor ( sour / bitter). we had good service. View is beautiful. Menu was a little pricey for what we got.

great views from rooftop no doubt flatbreads are very tasty, food decent tho i have not had a sit-down dinner there but twice. NOT inexpensive. In fact, very pricy, i think a well drink there was 7 or 8 bucks, i.e. , not a name brand vodka

This review is strictly for the bar as I've never been into the restaurant to eat. The bar is on the second story and open air which is great for the Charleston weather. The view is to die for. They didn't seem to have any drink specials which was disappointing. We had good service and enjoyed our time. Would go again for drinks but have heard the food is sub par & over priced. The flat bread (which is all the bar serves) was good but wish they had other options.

We have a slip at the marina and were excited to see the new restaurant open. The restaurant and bar have a great view. That is about as good as it gets. We went this past weekend, what a disappointment. Service is so so, and that's being polite, the food not much better and all way overpriced for what you receive. Save yourself the disappointment and go anywhere else.

After such a mediocre experience with the Charleston harbor motel (not a resort ) Have to say pleasantly surprised at how good the food was here and prices were great. Had crab cake sandwich with some amazing sweet potato fries that came with this cinnamon glaze dipping sauce. Second time had a spinach salad with fried oysters. Both meals were great and so cheap compared to downtown Charleston. Drinks were good, views are great. Classic cheesy fishing paraphernalia decor.

  • Elizabeth W.

View and breeze were excellent; but found it overpriced. Limited menu: shrimp & grits ($24-ish) and Crispy flounder ($24-ish) OK, but nothing to write home about. I was unhappy that the waiter (very nice) had a slew of specials he verbally told us about, but -- ahem -- forgot to mention prices. One in our party asked how much the specials: they were all $34 to $38. Now we know why the owner doesn't want to provide a written list of specials. As a local, I know there are better places to go. I will only go back for a drink. Menu is limited, not special, too expensive.

Food is terrible. Plain and simple. Service is poor. The price is excessive for food I wouldn't serve to guests in my own house. The view is great so I would get a drink here but don't waste your time or money on the food!

I was recently in Mount Pleasant and checked this place out for lunch. Their dinner menu is online on their website and it sounded pretty good. However their lunch menu leaves much to be desired. They serve raw oysters at dinner but not at lunch, go figure. The only shrimp dish on the menu was an appetizer shrimp and tomatoe salad. The "local" catch was mahi-mahi. I ended up having a burger. My waitress did say they were coming out with a new lunch menu in a week or so, as they have received a lot of complaints. Next time i'm in the area I'll be finding some other place to eat.

Waaaaaaayyyy overpriced & tiny portions. Our friend had a long hair in his food. Slow, poor service & good luck if you have to go to the bathroom---they are a long walk outside. They do have a beautiful building & awesome views of the Yorktown & Charleston Harbour.

Was there for Lunch. Beautiful view...Very nice finish/trim work. Ceviche, Fair. Oysters delicious. However, a restaurant of this caliber, and Tilapia is their fish of choice for the men?????Good Heavens! Sustainable, YES! In China! YUK! Nutritious NO!! Flavorful, NO! In Charleston?? Really?? Very disappointing. Service, good.

Been here a few times. Nice place. Great view. Like any new restaurant they had some bugs to work out. It is a nice place and the prices are fair for product delivered. I put this on my "shave first" list of restaurants. Bar upstairs hands down best views in all of CHS.

Stopped here for lunch with friends from Atlanta, Ga and had a great lunch/brunch. Staff was very good and management walked the restaurant to make sure all was good. We have been there before and will return. Great place to go, can't waited until the upstairs bar opens for the spring.

Event planners beware. Seriously considered cancelling my event here a mere one hour before, when I realized how horrible the service was - if that tells you anything! After following all procedures to secure the space, being told they did not have time for me was incredibly offensive. Especially in Charleston where I have come to enjoy and expect the generosity and hospitality - my experience here was unacceptable. I could go on, but not worth it. Go somewhere seasoned and respectable - there are plenty of other spaces on our wonderful town!

Visited with family and friends in early July. Very unorganized even with reservations that were made a month ahead of time. They set us in an unairconditioned part of the restaurant which was very humid and hot. The food was very pricey and wasn't very good at all. The drinks were also real expensive. The wait staff was at best, mediocre. The only good thing is the view of the USS Yorktown and Charleston Harbor. There are many good restaurants in the Charleston area that hands down are much better. Do yourself a favor and bypass this place and find something better!! Never again will I visit The Fish House!!!

Great new restaurant overlooking Charleston's harbor. Happened upon the place by chance and stopped in for lunch. Entire staff was very friendly and service was excellent. Ordered the fried oyster basket with coleslaw, oysters were cooked perfectly and portions were appropriate for lunch. Newly constructed building is extremely clean and well laid out giving the place a great atmosphere. While not the cheapest place to eat, where else can you enjoy such a great view with your meal. If you want cheap, stop at a fast food place and look out the window at the cars in the parking lot.

Tried the Charleston Harbor Fish House tonight. There were 4 of us in our dinner party, which included a toddler. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess and wait staff. The restaurant is beautifully done..the setting is unlike any other in the area. They have giant doors that open to allow the breeze in the dining area and upstairs at the bar area, it is open. If you go, make reservations or go before 6:00..it does get crowded. Ok, the food. We ordered shrimp cocktail for appetizer (very fresh..$15), crab cakes for an entree (quite thin but full of flavor) and two grouper specials which was highly recommended by our waitress. The grouper was ok, but not worth what we came to learn was at $37/dish. The average price on the menu for an entree is mid $20's. They do not put the specials in print so we just assumed they would be in the range of the menu. Not quite! Be forewarned! Dinner does not come with bread or salad...just a la carte. For 3 adults, 1 child ($7/entree)...1 appetizer and no dessert...our bill was $190. Here's the thing, we dine out often. Very often. But due to the prices, we won't dine here very often. I think the restaurant will pull in a good business, but I don't think it will be too many regulars. I'm told that the bar area serves flatbread pizza only so that will be where we dine next at The Charleston Harbor Fish House. Burtons has been our tried and true for amazing seafood. Yes, you don't get the views that The Charleston Harbor Fish House offers, but at $15 less per entree, that's ok.We get that you pay for a view, but the food has to be worthy of the price.

The Charleston Harbor Fish House, located at 32 Patriots Point Road is hidden well for a very specific reason, dare we say many reasons. -Intimate marina ambiance with magical harbor view of the USS Yorktown, sailboats and gorgeous western sunset. -Open outdoor second floor bar and dining area to feel the breeze of the harbor while enjoying a refreshing cocktail -Exquisite menu of fresh seafood, raw, cooked and fried to meet all your needs. -A walk through life on the water, with decor focused on a lifestyle on the water. -A warm and receptive staff from the wait service to management. Haleigh was a model of sunshine as our waitress and representative face of the restaurant. Her demeanor, pleasantries and warmth as we enjoyed a quiet evening out was presented almost flawlessly. We were given the best table in the restaurant, situated on the far right corner by the back window overlooking the Yorktown and the sun setting just to our left. As you make your way through the menu, it will come as no surprise that most of the entree selections are seafood based. If you do not take part in seafood dining, there are three incredible options including braised short ribs, Filet Mignon and Buttermilk fried chicken. If you are with a group and love the idea of raw indulgences, the Chilled Seafood Castle and Tower will be a perfect way to start or maintain all of you. This is priced at market but includes: Gulf and East Coast Oysters, little neck clams, mussels, Gulf Shrimp, snow crab legs, crab claws and lobster tails. I think this sharable list of delights speaks for itself. Grilled and Chilled Watermelon Salad Grilled and Chilled Watermelon Salad I was in a mood for a refreshing salad to whet my palate and I have to say, they have one of the most creative and refreshing spring and early fall salads I have ever enjoyed. The grilled and chilled watermelon salad was a sizable thick slice of watermelon lightly grilled and chilled with a bed of arugula, feta cheese, marinated tomatoes, mint and chili oil on top. With a solid watermelon foundation, a bit of spice and the right mix of tomato and feta, every bite was an enhanced rainbow of flavor. This alone, could have served as a meal for many. The smoked Salmon flat bread and Cedar Plank Salmon were the main courses of the evening. The flat bread was a healthy 10 inches round made with a house ricotta, dill and preserved lemon and topped with a good portion of very fresh smoked salmon. The richness of the ricotta and tangy smoked salmon made for a very nice combination. Initially, I was not sure how that would fair, but it was a successful play. The dill added for a nice aftertaste. The salmon came out on a hot cedar plank. Presented as a dark orange-pink and topped with a Sriracha honey-glaze and sided with grilled zucchini and smashed potatoes, the appearance was just as good as the taste. A well designed and prepared coastal entree. Fish House also offers tuna, grouper, swordfish crab cakes and shrimp & grits so do a little research first. If you go in cold, you may have a difficult time narrowing your selection down. From the initial setting of the sun to the darkness and Ravenel Bridge lights reflecting on the harbor, the Charleston Harbor Fish House delivered a memorable meal and very comforting dining experience.

Really good service. Ordered the Fish House Steam Pot and it was absolutely delicious. Afterwards, we were given a hot towel and lemon to wash off. Also ordered the Tuna Poke a Bowl and I HIGHLY recommend that as well.

Three stars is being generous. The view was lovely... Gorgeous sky, boats, aircraft carrier.. We loved it ! Our server , Dennis, was exceptional! He was knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming, enthusiastic & helpful! 5 Stars for service!! We started with 6 oysters that were perfection! Cold, briny, crisp.. So delicious! The arugula salad & the peel & eat shrimp were excellent as well! After this, it was all downhill. The tuna Poke bowl was really bad. Grisly, chunky, chewy tuna chunks. Horrible. The special, swordfish, was not as bad but it was far from exceptional. I could prepare better. We were so disappointed. Despite the 3 stars we really wanted to see if they could shine! Dennis sure did, but the entrees were terribly disappointing.

This maybe the worst restaurant in Charleston. Went here for restaurant week and chose from the prepared menu. For starters, my husband had the BBQ Shrimp and I had the grit fries with pimento cheese. The shrimp were awful! They were served in a bowl of broth and had nothing to do with BBQ. This simply was seafood stock that hadn't been drained. The shrimp were mush. The grit fries were good, but the pimento cheese was nothing more than stadium nacho cheese dip. For the main course,my husband had the fish and I choose the steak. He liked his and I refused to eat mine. The steak was drowning in a sauce that tasted like a cheap hoisin sauce with a splash of chemical spray. The dessert was just as disappointing. The service subpar at best. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Excellent seafood with a stunning view! One of the few places in town with a beautiful harbor view, Ravenel Bridge, Patriots Point, and downtown Charleston...all in one place. This was our first time and we will be back. We ordered: Appetizer: Green Onion Hushpuppies 6.95 Served with house-made tri-pepper marmalade Main courses: - Fish House Steam Pot - 27.95 Steamed clams, local mussels, shrimp, seasonal fish, snow crab legs, chorizo, potatoes and corn in a tomato-based broth with grilled sourdough bread - Grilled Mahi Mahi - 22.95 With blue crab caper brown butter, smashed potatoes and Chef's selection of vegetable Two Kids meal at 8.95 each - fish bites with fries, a kids drink, and a ice cream sandwich Review: The Green Onion Hushpuppies were pretty good. They were on the small size, but still quite tasty, especially with the marmalade. You can't see or taste the green onion, so if your kids are picky like ours, they won't even notice. They also offered us some complementary bread which was great with the olive oil sauce. I ordered the Fish House Steam Pot and loved it! You get a little of everything including two huge scallops, a couple of crab legs, several clams, two or three huge fish pieces (yummy), several medium to large sized shrimps, and a broth filled with low country broil broth of perfection. I had to ask for a spoon since they never brought me one. Wifey ordered the Grilled Mahi Mahi which she claims is probably the best seafood dish that she has tasted in Charleston since we moved here. She wanted to come back without the kids one day. The kids meals were great, especially the deserts which the kids loved. It was perfect since my steam pot took a while to finish and it kept them occupied. Atmosphere: Every table had a view. We were offered a booth, which was perfect with little ones. We were happy since we still had a decent view. Next time, I would love to try the rooftop.

Ordered a Steam Pot and a Tito's Mule, both of which were everything I hoped they could be. I was a little disappointed at the upcharge they were asking in order to serve the Mule in the appropriate copper mug, it seemed a little absurd. I could imagine someone trying to abscond with them, so fine, put a hold on my credit card instead. Anyways, $16 for one drink is a little over the top. We went upstairs after and took in the view. All in all GOOD but not GREAT.

Excellent Seafood. Especially for this island boy. The poke bowl was awesome! Can't wait to try the rest of their menu!

*Edit* Just ate at the fish house, despite the reservation mix up described below we had a great meal. Our very attentive waiter Jacob and the whole crew was very apologetic about the wait but did an excellent job despite having such a full house. Food was excellent and they were able to rush our appetizers which helped a lot. Great work, gave it three stars due to the reservation issue. Pre-meal drama: I haven't eaten at the fish house yet, I'm currently waiting to get a seat, ill write another review once I've eaten. The web site recommends making a reservation, but it may not make a difference. Tonight we used open table to make 7pm reservations but upon arrival learned that the establishment decided to only use half their dining area, so even though we booked reservations, and there was plenty of availability reflected online from 645 through 730, their use of half the dining area was not reflected via the online reservation tool. Bottom line there was a wait despite making reservations, recommend calling ahead instead of booking online.

Great service and scenic views of Patriots Point! Amazing food at average seafood prices. The she crab soup was awesome as was the grouper. Will dine here again:-)

The view makes one forgive all other sins. My steampot was all cooked on par with the potatoes, so much of the shellfish was overdone for my taste. The bartender was quite the charmer. Knowledgeable, kind, op point. Bar friendlies were also lovely if mature. It's an experience you shouldn't miss, even if the prices are stout.

Stopped in for brunch and really enjoyed the food, view and drinks. Without a reservation, we were seated by the fireplace at a table with a gorgeous view of the harbor. There were multiple brunch cocktails to choose from but mimosas are $2 and carafes are $10. Excellent deal and the bartender will pour the amount of OJ to suit your taste. I ordered a simple scrambled eggs, grits and bacon. All perfect. My companion ordered the crab cake Benedict and really enjoyed. Great service too. We took our final mimosa and went out the the deck upstairs to enjoy the sunshine. Awesome brunch.

Not sure why this was given so many bad reviews. The view is okay, if you want to look at an aircraft carrier. The food was good-great. We came for brunch on our way out of town after renting a houseboat at the nearby marina. The Shrimp Caesar Bloody Mary at $10 was much tastier than the $4 Bloody Mary that was on special. The she crab soup was okay, just needed a bit of salt. I had the seafood crepes which had me scraping my plate they were so delicious. He had the stuffed French toast, which I think we could have passed on. Service was friendly and attentive. If you're staying at the Marina or checking out the carrier, I'd stop by.

Nice view, great service, a little noisy. Food was very good, but pricy for the small portion.

The drink special was to die for. Steve the bartender took the care to make it fresh and wonderful! Food was very good and atmosphere was comfortable with s great view of the water and the bridge. Will definitely come back.

Simply incredible. I started with a pint at the upstairs bar just admiring the view, then moved to the restaurant itself for dinner. The view was no less spectacular downstairs. I had the pecan crusted grouper, and it was superb. I will absolutely be back again.

Went there about 3 times over Charleston Race Week, an International Sail boat Regatta held each year out of the Marina next door. I have yet to have a meal there but had Hors Doerves and Drinks on the Upstairs Patio and in the private party room. The drinks were overpriced and just ok. And I really did not like the food much. They were trying to get creative on a few items and just failed. The people with me thought the same. Sorry. The one thing I can say for it is it has probably the best view in the entire Charleston area at Sunset and much of the day on pretty days if not raining or too hot. I went once when 2 hot and once when raining and not a good spot upstairs for that. The inside dining downstairs has escaped me so far. Will try to give that a try sometime this summer and hope that it surpasses my lowered expectations. If so hope to move this 2 up to a better number.

We made a reservation for a Saturday evening for dinner. We asked to sit outside. By the time we came there the patio was closed because it was too hot outside. I think they should have told us because we couldn't change our plans anymore! To sit inside in the patio it not so nice. Looks a little bit shabby. But I asked to sit at the right side of the restaurant and thát looks really nice! They have a good menu!! We had swordfish, steamed seafood and a raw tuna-entree! It was all really good! Our servant was nice and helpful. It's also relaxed because its outside busy Charleston and has a great view and sunset!!

    1) Our server, Dennis, was the BEST! 2) the entrees are just OK 3) the view is stunning, especially at sunset 4) the roof bar is cool The oysters, peel-n-eat shrimp, and salads were all very good. The entrees, swordfish, and tuna poke bowl, were bland and uninspiring.

Yikes. While there aren't too many waterfront places in Charleston we thought we'd give this one a try while we had family visiting in town. The view is gorgeous, but other than that it's all downhill. We had a reservation and ended up having to wait 45 minutes for our table (mind you we were on time and not early or late). Once we sat, it took another 10 minutes for us to even be approached by a server. These poor guys were running around like a chicken with their head cut off and were clearly understaffed (although for reasons unknown there were 3 hostesses hanging at the front desk). Then the food- not impressed at all. My husband's fish was so overcooked it was like cat food and unedible. I opted for the raw oysters which you normally can't mess up, however they weren't even fully shucked! I don't understand. It ended up being overly expensive too for just those few things and two drinks. You can eat at a fabulous place in Charleston for less than this. Needless to say we were very disappointed and won't be back. If you want a good view- go for a drink in their upstairs bar and steer clear of the restaurant and food.

Excellent food, stunning views, wonderful service. Our trip here for dinner after a long drive and an afternoon across the harbor at the aquarium did not disappoint. Oysters, shrimp cocktail, and she-crab soup were spectacular. Entrees, red snapper special and the grilled mahi mahi were equally amazing. Polished off with a great bartender, who made phenomenal cocktails and a genuine lovely waitress, Allie, who made us laugh. Plus, with a view like that, there isn't a bad seat in the house! Will definitely be back at some point!

Great place! Views beautiful right at Patriot Point. Food was really good, I had blacken grouper one of the best I have had. My husband had fish & chips which he loved. Our son had lobster roll, being from New England it is hard to compare to the Maine lobster roll, with that said it was good. Very relaxing, will definitely return!

3rd time here today and 3 times we left. This places advertises the best views in Charleston. At just shy of 3:00 pm Sat, the upstairs area was not open. Went down stairs and inquired. They said will be open soon but just bar food, and drinks, no service, and that most people drink up there and go downstairs for dinner. Really! You would think that with the best views in Charleston, that being able to eat upstairs in the open overlooking the area, would be there claim to fame!! I can always eat inside in other restaurants in the area. Seems to me that they're missing out on a very important resource, the upstairs outside dinning.. There can be no excuse. I'm done. Frank G

They no longer serve brunch which was disappointing since we went because the brunch menu online looked great. The service was good and the food was decent-definitely a place to go grab a drink when the weather is nice. The location makes it worth it with such an incredible view and parking was convenient.

We were staying at the resort and had lunch here. We had a very nice view of Charleston. We had some very yummy drinks from the bar Black Beards Revenge and we shared some fried green tomatoes and I had the lobster roll sandwich and my husband had fish and chips. We had a really friendly waiter and a delicious meal.

WOW! Fried grouper and shrimp was incredible. Steam pot was the best! Highly recommend. Best view of any restaurant I've ever been to and prices were reasonable.

Great find on Groupon. Awesome views of Patriots Point. I had the blackened grouper sandwich. I would get it again. We had the crab dip with pita bread. They forgot to bring more of the bread, so to make up for it they brought huges slabs of the red velvet cake & chocolate cake. It wasnt even a big deal but the manager insisted. I have never turned down chocolate cake

I am sure there is some better places in Charleston, but if you're looking for good food, a nice restaurant with a great view away from the hustle and bustle this is highly recommended. I had the she crab soup, yellowfin tuna and it was great, the cauliflower was amazing! The kids menu also had some nice variation to the typical burgers, grilled cheese and chicken tenders...not to mention an amazing ice cream sandwich tower for the kids...Lol All in all, if you're looking for something away from downtown, this was really good.

They do fine with simple dishes like shrimp, crab cakes, etc.. I would not get the fish, steak, or anything else here again (it's usually horrible). The service it hit or miss, very attentive one time, the next people are just grabbing the nearest waiter to get the check and get out. The drinks and view upstairs we what make this place, otherwise they would fold in a heart beat.

I had the house-made lobster ravioli and was fantastic. My wife had the seafood steam-pot and it lacked flavor despite being steamed with tomatoes. The IOP Iced Tea is a great cocktail.

We were on time for our Open Table reservation and had to wait 15 minutes for a 2 top when there were plenty of tables. A long wait for the server. No water offered. Ordered clam chowder, Caesar salad and fish and chips. 40 minutes later the server offered bread and said the "food was in the window"; 10 minutes later someone else brought food. Caesar had brown lettuce and additional brown wierd dressing, still don't know what it was! The soup was lukewarm and straight out the can with a few herbs on it and the fries were leftover! The Fried fish was hot and good. The manager was nowhere to be found even though all of the untrained servers were in the weeds! Never again.

Absolutely Wonderful! The best waterfront dining w a view for gorgeous sunsets. They know seafood ! We had the Martini of Mixed Seafood, the Spinach Fig & Apple Salad, the Filet Mignon w a Thyme butter, Asparagus a Real Mashed Red Potatoes along with Seared Pan Roasted Sea Scallops, Champagne & Wine :) Had Great Service too from Brian. My "New" Favorite waterfront dining & upstairs is also great for happy hour. It looks so looks like plenty of room for functions. The only problem is the restrooms just don't seem close enough. Other than that totally give this place 5 stars :-)

While visiting Charleston we decide to go here for dinner. It was excellent!! I had the filet with lobster tail and you can cut the filet with a butter knife. Drinks were a little pricey but the food was fabulous.

Went for brunch today. Had low expectations because of the bad reviews here. Mentioned it to hostess who said they have a new chef. Was pleasantly surprised. Had the shrimp Po boy. Very tasty! Good sized portion, too. Also included a side so I had the succotash. Mmmm. For dessert I had key lime pie. Again a good sized piece. Our server was very competent and personable. Great views of the harbor. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Awsome view! Only, if that was enough to feed us. Service is slow and sloppy. Server had to run to the kitchen for answers on all our questions. Bread was brought out when we were almost done with main course. Although, food was delicious, beautifully presented on plate and plentiful. Key Lime Pie was fantastic, best I've had in a while. Prices are exuberant, can't afford this place on regular basis.

Purchased a groupon for this place which is why we came here.. Very glad we did. Food was outstanding. Tried the calamari, very tender and crispy. Bread was warm and flavourful. Drinks were very good... I had their fish and chips, well battered, and fried, not over or under cooked. very flakey. Fries were great, tartar sauce was homemade and very good. My wife had some scallops and shrimp, the cocktail sauce was extraordinary (I love it with heavy horseradish). Didn't have time for dessert but will definitely be returning. The service was good and the view of the USS Yorktown spectacular.

The view was beautiful- looking at the USS Yorktown and the bridge. The service was quite slow. Our waitress barely came over. Other servers (and I'm assuming was the manager) brought our appetizers/food. Our appetizers came out after 20 minutes and our food was about five minutes behind it. Usually, I prefer a lapse in time between my appetizers and my food. The food was very delicious and cooked perfectly. I had the shrimp scampi. The sauce was the best I've had. Someone ordered the fish platter including the shrimp and grouper fish. It wasn't overly fried and was very light. Cooked perfectly. Another person at the table had the mahi mahi. DELICIOUS. Recommend it, highly! Everything was fairly priced for the type of restaurant and food. The drinks from the bar were weak and not made correctly. We sent back two drinks..
